Microsoft offers voluntary exits to 60,000 workers
Microsoft has proposed a new voluntary exit plan for approximately 60,000 employees across the US, Canada, India, and the UK. This initiative follows a previous program aimed at nearly 9,000 workers. The new plan targets employees up to the vice-president level, excluding certain roles in data centers and sales. Those who accept the offer will receive compensation similar to severance pay. The company anticipates lower participation compared to the first initiative, where about one-third of eligible employees opted to leave. Microsoft has been reducing its workforce, having laid off around 4,800 employees recently, and plans to announce its financial results for the July to September period soon.
