Billion-dollar heist at the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange was made possible by fake job applications

A Binance employee was tricked into downloading malware during video calls with a scammer posing as the CEO. This allowed hackers to access the exchange's systems and steal $6.3 billion in cryptocurrencies, surpassing previous theft records. Binance has pledged to compensate victims and has set aside billions for this purpose. The FBI attributes the attack to a North Korean hacker group, which the country denies.
