Minister needs more time to develop nitrogen plans

Adjustments to nitrogen plans are necessary after lengthy discussions with agricultural organizations. Talks continued late into the night and Friday morning, but consensus was not reached. Some farmer groups refused to negotiate, demanding the plans be withdrawn. Minister Van Essen stated he needs a few more days to finalize details and plans to inform the House of Representatives next week. Farmers are advocating for smaller protected zones around nature, proposing a maximum of 250 meters instead of the 1 kilometer initially suggested. They also oppose the proposed cow standards.
