The Ministry of Transport wants to increase tolls by 18.5 percent from the middle of next year

The Czech Ministry of Transport plans to increase tolls for trucks over 3.5 tons starting mid-next year, aiming to align rates with neighboring countries. The toll for trucks over 12 tons will rise by 18.5% on highways and 26.6% on first-class roads. This adjustment is expected to generate an additional 1.6 billion CZK in 2027 and around 4 billion CZK annually thereafter. The current toll rates are significantly lower than those in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary, leading to increased international transit through the Czech Republic. The new rates will see trucks paying 7.07 CZK per kilometer after the increase, compared to 5.96 CZK currently.
