MMP launches an eight million competition for the restoration and requalification of the Burnay Palace

The public tender for the restoration and requalification of the Burnay Palace in Lisbon has been launched by Museums and Monuments of Portugal (MMP), with a budget of eight million euros. This project aims to establish MMP's headquarters and cultural activities. The first phase will select the top three design proposals, leading to a contract with the best candidate for architectural and specialty projects. The palace, classified as a Public Interest Property since 1982, will undergo significant restoration, including surrounding buildings and gardens, to enhance public access and cultural offerings. The initiative is part of a broader investment in cultural heritage, announced by Prime Minister António Costa in January 2024, totaling 26 million euros.
