Social mobilization: six weeks of a movement as active on social networks as in the streets
Students from Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry high school in Créteil organized a movement via Snapchat after their teachers' strike. On September 18, they barricaded the school, leading to nationwide protests. Influencer Willy and MP Louis Boyard supported them, with Boyard's TikTok video gaining over 1.5 million views. The movement's growth was fueled by viral videos and extensive online mobilization, with Instagram accounts showcasing their demands. Students used private groups on various platforms to coordinate actions and share information, emphasizing internal decision-making and external communication through larger accounts.
