Mozambique wants 67,327 companies registered in mandatory Social Security by 2030

Mozambique aims to register 67,327 companies in the mandatory Social Security system by 2030, enhancing contributory coverage and national social protection. This goal is part of the recently approved Five-Year Plan for Public Administration Reform and Development Strategy 2026-2030, which prioritizes mandatory social protection. The government plans to enroll 16,234 companies in 2026, increasing annually until reaching the target. The initiative seeks to improve financial sustainability and worker protection against illness, disability, and old age. Additionally, it includes integrating state employees into the mandatory system and enhancing administrative management of social security. The broader strategy also addresses public service digitalization, anti-corruption, and governance improvements.
