Monet painting Iris sold for 50 million euros, the most expensive work ever auctioned in France

A painting by Monet, titled Iris, was sold for 50 million euros at auction, significantly exceeding its estimated value. Previously owned by the Schlumberger family, it had not been publicly displayed. The new owner is from Asia. Sotheby's is also auctioning three other Monet works, while Christie's recently sold two Monet paintings for substantial amounts.
