Monreale Italian Capital of Books 2027

Monreale has been designated as the Italian Capital of Books for 2027 with the project "Monreale legge il mondo," receiving approximately 500,000 euros for its implementation. The initiative aims to promote reading, enhance the book industry, and foster social inclusion. Monreale's rich cultural heritage, including its UNESCO-recognized Arab-Norman architecture, played a significant role in its selection. The city plans to host literary festivals, author meetings, and educational programs to strengthen its cultural identity and community engagement.
