Monsaraz will simulate human exploration of Mars in April
Monsaraz will host a simulation of human exploration on Mars from April 5 to 18, led by João Lousada from the European Space Agency. The initiative, organized by the Austrian Space Forum, involves six analog astronauts from various countries testing technologies and scientific methods under Mars-like conditions. They will conduct 17 scientific experiments while using a 50-kilogram space suit simulator and communicating with a control center in Vienna with a deliberate 10-minute delay. The project collaborates with several institutions, including the University of Évora and the Portuguese company Tekever.
