Amount transferred per year by the State to SIRESP remains "always below" 26 million euros

The president of SIRESP stated that the annual compensation from the state is always below 26 million euros, with costs decreasing significantly since 2022. The compensation, which varies between 19 and 26 million euros, is used to pay six companies responsible for the operation and maintenance of Portugal's emergency communication system. Viegas Nunes emphasized the need for ongoing investment in infrastructure and criticized the lack of scrutiny regarding the network's performance. He also addressed accusations from a former official about the lack of oversight and discussed the controversial decision to dissolve the Operations and Management Center of SIRESP. Additionally, he mentioned issues related to the procurement of generators and the relationship between SIRESP and the Ministry of Internal Administration.
