Composer and conductor Álvaro Salazar, founder of the Oficina Musical, has died

Álvaro Salazar, a prominent composer and conductor, passed away, as announced by the Oficina Musical, which he founded. Born in Porto in 1938, he studied at the Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa and taught composition at ESMAE in Porto. His contributions to contemporary music education and creation were significant, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. The farewell ceremony is scheduled for today at the Matosinhos Funeral Home.
