"Now we will settle an old debt, which is not even our debt" – the service pension salary cap will be abolished

The government plans to abolish the salary cap on service pensions in 2027 and eliminate the 15% personal income tax starting in 2028, as announced by the ministers of defense and interior. They emphasized that these changes address a longstanding issue stemming from a previous government's decision in 2012, which imposed the tax and salary cap on service pensions. The ministers stated that these measures will benefit police and military personnel, and they are committed to resolving both issues. Although the budget does not currently allow for these changes, they assured that they will find a way to finance them by 2028.
