Moscow unleashed drones on Ukraine after Putin spoke about restarting peace talks

Russia launched airstrikes on Ukraine's infrastructure and energy facilities early Friday, shortly after President Putin expressed readiness for trilateral peace talks. Ukrainian authorities reported injuries from a drone strike in Sumy and damage to energy facilities in Odesa and Rivne. The military governor of Odesa noted that an energy facility was damaged but no casualties occurred. DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, reported a power plant was hit, halting electricity production. The Russian military deployed 176 drones, with Ukrainian defenses reportedly destroying 140. Putin claimed Russia has always sought a peaceful resolution to the conflict, reiterating the need for a ceasefire before any peace agreement.
