MP rejects summary proceedings for detainees from Porto

The Public Prosecutor's Office decided to send the case of seven detained housing rights protesters in Porto to a common process due to insufficient evidence for a summary trial. Lawyer Ricardo Salazar stated that this means a delayed trial and potential case dismissal. He expressed concerns about the mixing of issues related to the arrests for alleged disobedience. The police actions led to tensions, with seven arrests in Porto and six in Lisbon, resulting in injuries to both protesters and police officers. Salazar plans to file a criminal complaint against the Minister of Internal Administration and the national police director regarding the legality of police force used during the protests.
