MPS shareholders reject CEO Lovaglio plan to fend off Intesa Sanpaolo takeover
Monte dei Paschi di Siena shareholders dismissed key elements of CEO Luigi Lovaglio's strategy against Intesa Sanpaolo's takeover bid. Proposals to acquire Banco BPM and Banca Generali were overwhelmingly rejected, with over 90% voting against each. Additionally, a merger proposal with Mediobanca also failed to gain necessary support, as 63.65% opposed it. These rejections effectively terminate Lovaglio's defensive measures against the takeover.
