The social mouse owl spent nearly 100 days at a golf club

A 14-year-old Harris's hawk named Stax escaped from HawkWatch International in Utah, where he served as an educational ambassador. After disappearing for 99 days, he was found at a golf resort nearby. His caretakers were concerned about his survival as the winter approached, given that this species is not native to Utah. Efforts to locate him included setting traps and cameras. When he was finally retrieved, he recognized his caretaker, showing he remembered his human connections.
