After yet another attempt, opposition leader María Corina Machado is now really back in Venezuela

María Corina Machado has successfully returned to Venezuela after living in exile for nearly ten months. She had left the country secretly in December 2025 and faced numerous obstacles in her attempts to return. Her return comes after the U.S. government, which had previously hindered her efforts, reportedly no longer opposes her presence in the country. Machado is a prominent political opponent of Nicolás Maduro and could potentially run in future democratic elections. Her previous candidacy in 2024 was blocked by the Supreme Court, leading her to support another opposition candidate who won the elections, although the government declared Maduro the victor.
