Katowice residents have been waiting for this investment for years. An important decision has been made.
The city of Katowice has selected Budimex for a tram line extension project worth 356.8 million PLN, with a completion deadline of 30 months. The new line will connect Brynów to Kostuchna, featuring six pairs of stops and direct bus transfers. This project, part of a larger modernization initiative, has faced delays due to environmental disputes but has secured EU funding after overcoming corruption investigations. The extension aims to improve public transport efficiency, allowing travel from Kostuchna to the city center in under 30 minutes. Additionally, a new road and bike path will be constructed alongside the tram line.
