NATO must accelerate development, says tech company chief. He is working on a significant system for drones

NATO countries must accelerate the development and implementation of military technologies to remain competitive in potential conflicts. Gui Wainwright, head of Occam Industries, emphasized that technology can become obsolete within months, highlighting the need for rapid innovation cycles. He noted that while his company can adapt technology quickly based on battlefield feedback in Ukraine, similar processes in NATO could take years. Occam Industries is developing software for drones to operate autonomously, addressing issues like electronic interference. Wainwright believes that the future lies in autonomous systems handling most operations, allowing humans to focus on specialized tasks. He also pointed out that Ukraine's rapid technological advancements could serve as a model for Europe, advocating for better defense spending and system compatibility.
