NATO to strengthen its presence in the Black Sea after attacks on ships
The North Atlantic Council discussed security in the Black Sea at NATO headquarters in Brussels. NATO countries are sending additional aircraft, drones, and radar, along with intelligence analysts and teams to investigate explosive materials. While NATO did not assign blame for recent attacks, military analysts suspect Russia's involvement. Last week, a drone attack on chemical tankers near Romania resulted in seven missing sailors. In the past ten days, at least five other cargo ships were attacked near Romania and Bulgaria, leading to casualties among sailors. NATO has strengthened its eastern flank, particularly in drone defense capabilities, and remains united in responding to threats to protect its member states' security.
