Natural landscape Wolfsgracht in Denderleeuw officially opened: "Buildings 'adapt' to nature"
The Wolfsgracht nature landscape in Denderleeuw has been officially opened, transforming 15 hectares into a natural area with trees, grasslands, walking paths, and a play zone. The city aims to integrate buildings harmoniously with nature, rather than the usual approach of developing housing first. This area, once designated for urban expansion, is now preserved as one of the last large open spaces in the municipality. Three designated residential zones will be developed to prevent developers from overtaking the land. The project aligns with broader goals to enhance quality green public spaces and improve local water management.
