Nearly 50 companies involved in producing Russia's Starlink alternative, 23 not under international sanctions, HUR says

Ukraine's military intelligence revealed that 49 companies from Russia and Belarus are developing the Rassvet satellite communications system, with 23 of them unsanctioned. The system aims to provide military satellite links for Russian forces, particularly for drone operations. Bureau 1440 leads the project, supported by Roscosmos and other aerospace firms. The first satellites were launched in March and July 2023. HUR warns that Rassvet could facilitate Russian military operations in Ukraine and Europe, urging for sanctions against involved companies.
