Ukraine does not want to depend on Starlink, has partnered with Nokia

SpaceX has imposed speed restrictions on its satellite internet service in Ukraine without prior notice, affecting military operations. In response, Ukraine is exploring alternatives, signing agreements with Nokia and Iceye to enhance defense capabilities. President Zelensky emphasized the importance of reliable communication for national security. Ukraine is also partnering with Norway for joint development of defense systems. Experts suggest building alternatives could take 2-3 years, with achieving Starlink-level capabilities being a distant goal. Neither the Trump administration nor Elon Musk has taken responsibility for the restrictions, and U.S. lawmakers are demanding an investigation into the service changes.
