The investigative committee dealing with the MNB scandal will not hear György Matolcsy, who is in custody, on Thursday.

On November 5, the parliamentary investigative committee regarding the MNB scandal will meet, but it will not hear György Matolcsy, who is currently in custody. Committee chairman Attila Csőszi stated that the Central Investigative Prosecutor's Office has determined that the legal conditions for his hearing are not met. The committee will decide how to handle the situation and whether alternatives for Matolcsy's hearing exist. The committee began its work in August and initially planned to hear both György Matolcsy and his son Ádám, the latter of whom is subject to an international arrest warrant. The committee aims to uncover the details of the scandal involving missing funds from the central bank's foundation.
