The committee investigating the MNB scandal will not hear György Matolcsy on Thursday.

The investigative committee examining the MNB scandal will not hear György Matolcsy on November 5 due to legal constraints. The Central Investigative Prosecutor's Office stated that the conditions for his hearing are not met, suggesting alternatives like remote hearings. Matolcsy's lawyer submitted a detailed request regarding the hearing but has not received a response. The committee plans to read this request at the upcoming meeting and then hear former Minister Mihály Varga. Matolcsy, who was arrested on October 21, is suspected of significant economic fraud related to the PADME Foundation's assets, with implications involving his son and associates. International arrest warrants have been issued for Matolcsy and others involved, as they are currently outside the country.
