You can't start too early: although the war is still raging, European countries will begin practicing peacekeeping in Ukraine starting next week.

Next week, nearly 3,000 soldiers from 12 European countries will conduct military exercises in Poland, led by the UK and France. The drills aim to simulate the deployment of a multinational force to Ukraine following a potential peace agreement. The Coalition exercise, running from November 9 to 22, will test command and control systems to ensure interoperability among troops from different nations. Participating countries include the UK, France, Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey. Plans for a reassurance force in Ukraine were announced last year, but details remain unclear, particularly regarding rules of engagement and training roles. Russia opposes foreign troop presence in Ukraine, viewing them as legitimate targets, and shows no signs of ending the conflict.
