Netherlands pulls out of Eurovision again over Israel participation

The Netherlands has withdrawn from the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest due to concerns over Israel's participation, reversing an earlier commitment to return. NPO's media director cited societal divisions and sensitivities surrounding Israel's involvement as reasons for the decision. Discussions with other broadcasters revealed insufficient support for participation, leading to the conclusion that it was premature to join the contest. While some fans may be disappointed, the contest will still be broadcast in the Netherlands. Other countries, including Ireland and Spain, have also opted out due to similar concerns regarding Israel's actions in Gaza. Eurovision organizers are implementing changes to address these divisions.
