The New York City International Book Fair (FILNYC) runs from October 21 to 25, featuring 160 events, double the previous year. This year's fair honors Jorge Luis Borges and Federico García Lorca, with a focus on Spanish-language literature. The opening panel will discuss the theme "The Sea We Are," featuring Cecilia Vicuña and Mayra Santos-Febres. The fair aims to promote innovation and collaboration among Hispanic cultural organizers, with over 300 proposals submitted. Notable events include the Velada Lorca and tributes to literary figures like Juan Rulfo and Elena Garro. The Whitney Museum joins as a partner, hosting discussions on translation.
