Look up at the sky, the most spectacular meteor shower of autumn is coming
In early November, the Southern and Northern Taurids meteor showers will peak, with activity visible throughout the first two weeks. The Southern Taurids will reach their maximum on November 4, producing about 5-8 meteors per hour, while the Northern Taurids will peak on November 12, with around 4-5 meteors per hour. Both showers are known for bright fireballs. Their origins trace back to the 2P/Encke comet and possibly the 2004 TG10 asteroid, remnants of a larger ancient comet. Observers can expect excellent viewing conditions during these nights, especially with minimal moonlight interference.
