"We will not agree." Confederation politician responds to Czarnek's proposal regarding Częstochowa

In a recent referendum, Częstochowa residents voted to remove Mayor Krzysztof Matyjaszczyk and the city council, with 97% supporting the decision. The turnout was 51,863, surpassing the required minimum. This outcome triggers early elections, prompting political parties to consider candidates, with Piotr Strach from Poland 2050 being a prominent name. Przemysław Czarnek from PiS suggested a unified right-wing candidate for the position, emphasizing Częstochowa's significance. However, the Confederation rejected this idea, insisting on a candidate from their ranks. Matyjaszczyk has faced legal issues, including corruption charges, and has been unable to perform his duties for eight months. Allegations against him include nepotism and mismanagement of city finances, leading to the referendum initiated by local activists.
