Cyberattacks on freezers continue. This time they heated up in Germany
Cyberattacks targeting refrigeration systems have been reported across Europe, affecting supermarkets in multiple countries. On November 2, incidents were noted in Belgium, Sweden, Ireland, Luxembourg, Estonia, Italy, Portugal, and the Netherlands. In Ireland, 13 supermarkets were impacted, while Belgium saw around 15 Carrefour locations affected. A similar issue arose in Bavaria, Germany, where a supermarket reported food spoilage due to a cyberattack that switched freezers to heating mode. This follows earlier attacks in France that raised temperatures in refrigeration units. Authorities are investigating these incidents, and warnings have been issued regarding cybersecurity measures for such systems.
