Unofficially: Poland exempted from the obligation to accept migrants again in 2027
Poland has been providing the European Commission with data on its migration situation, expecting a favorable decision regarding the mandatory solidarity mechanism. This mechanism, part of the EU migration pact, requires member states to assist countries under migration pressure. Poland has been exempted from these obligations for the current year due to the influx of Ukrainian refugees and ongoing pressure at the Belarus border. Reports suggest Poland may receive another exemption for 2027, as the migration situation remains unchanged. The European Commission is delayed in releasing its report, now expected on November 4, with approval from EU member states anticipated to be a formality.
