Unexpected success over the Baltic. Poland surpasses Norway
According to the "Offshore Wind Industry Update 2026" report, Poland's offshore wind capacity is projected to reach 9.3 gigawatts by the end of 2025, significantly higher than Norway's 1.6 gigawatts. The report highlights that while both countries are developing this sector, Poland has the potential to become a global leader, unlike Norway, which is not fully utilizing its capabilities. A notable example of Poland's progress is the Baltic Power project, which will have a capacity of 1.2 GW. The report emphasizes that an attractive business model is crucial for market growth, with Poland being recognized as one of the fastest-growing markets alongside the UK, France, and Taiwan.
