New movement lab in AZ Delta Roeselare helps people with muscle, joint, and nerve problems using 3D technology

AZ Delta hospital in Roeselare has opened a motion lab utilizing 3D technology to analyze walking difficulties in adults with joint, muscle, or nerve issues. The lab aims to uncover underlying problems that are not visible to the naked eye. Since its soft launch in early 2026, around 100 patients have been assessed. The lab employs infrared cameras and electrodes to monitor body movements and muscle activity, providing detailed insights into patients' gait patterns. This analysis allows for tailored treatment recommendations, including physiotherapy and potential surgical options. Patients can access the lab through referrals from their doctors.
