New plan for 235 homes at Bruges Sint-Pieterskaai, 3 years after the refusal of the residential tower due to UNESCO advice

A new residential project plan has been submitted for Sint-Pieterskaai in Bruges, aiming to build 235 homes, including 49 social housing units. The project, proposed by developers Caaap and Global Estate Group, follows a previous rejection of a 50-meter tower due to UNESCO's negative advice. The new buildings will be a maximum of 30 meters high and include commercial spaces and office areas. An open public inquiry is ongoing until December 1, and if approved, further permits will be required for construction. The outcome remains uncertain given past objections from UNESCO regarding height restrictions near the historic city center.
