New Lime Kiln Bridge installed in Kortrijk: "Bridge will be installed in 1 day"

A new foot and bike bridge, the Kalkovenbrug, has been installed in Kortrijk, made from lightweight composite material. It is designed for easy installation and will be accessible by the end of the year. The bridge consists of three prefabricated elements, with the heaviest weighing 5 tons. The previous wooden bridge was closed in April 2025 due to stability issues. The new bridge is positioned closer to the Broeltorens and will improve connectivity for cyclists and pedestrians. The total investment for the project is 800,000 euros, including surrounding infrastructure adjustments.
