New mural in Overijse: astronaut picking grapes

A new mural titled 'Phyto-Futures' has been created at Sint-Martinuscollege in Overijse, featuring an astronaut picking grapes. British artist Rocket01 explores the future of local grape cultivation, reflecting the region's heritage and combining it with his interest in space. The mural, measuring 90 square meters, is part of a European Street Art project aimed at showcasing European values, with sustainability as a central theme. The artwork includes a female astronaut reaching for grapes, surrounded by vines, and features the 12 stars of Europe on her suit. The local culture councilor hopes the mural will inspire admiration and discussions among students and passersby. This is the 13th mural in Belgium under the European initiative, funded by the European Commission.
