New parking regulations coming for Kapermolen swimming pool in Hasselt: "Students and visitors to the city center are abusing the parking"

In Hasselt, the underground parking at Kapermolen swimming pool is often full, causing issues for swimmers. Vlaams Belang councilor Toon Vranken highlighted that students and city visitors misuse the parking. The city is considering a new system linking free parking to swim tickets to prioritize actual swimmers. Mobility alderman Kevin Schouterden acknowledged the problem and noted that current regulations are being exploited. The city aims to implement technological solutions, such as QR codes, to ensure parking is reserved for pool visitors and to penalize those who misuse it.
