Nigeria. Patient with the first case of Ebola evacuated to Switzerland
Nigeria has reported its first Ebola infection, with a woman hospitalized in Abuja. Health Minister Muhammad Ali Pate announced her transfer to Switzerland, stating she is stable and improving but still infected. The woman, a Ugandan married to a Swiss diplomat, recently traveled through Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, where an Ebola outbreak is ongoing. The Nigerian government is monitoring her husband, who shows no symptoms. Ebola spreads through direct contact with infected bodily fluids, with symptoms appearing 2 to 21 days post-infection.
