No one knew what had happened back then. Two human bodies were found in Šumava, the explanation came years later
In spring 1988, foresters discover two bodies in the Šumava region, belonging to a young couple from East Germany who had been missing for weeks. Their abandoned car, found near Sušice, contained most of their belongings, suggesting they were prepared for a journey. Frank Labuschin, who felt a lack of future in East Germany, and his girlfriend Heike Bischof, embarked on what seemed to be more than just a trip to Czechoslovakia. They ventured into a remote area during extreme weather conditions, complicating border patrols. The circumstances of their journey remain partly mysterious, raising questions about their chosen route and the events leading to their tragic end.
