North Korea fires ballistic missiles towards the sea
North Korea launched approximately ten short-range ballistic missiles into the sea off its eastern coast, according to South Korean military sources. The missiles were fired near Wonsan around 12:30 PM, with at least one landing in the Sea of Japan, outside Japanese waters. This marks the latest in a series of weapons tests by North Korea, which has conducted at least ten this year. Tensions are rising between North and South Korea, especially after recent landmine explosions injured three South Korean soldiers, which South Korea attributes to North Korea. Additionally, Kim Yo-jong announced the deployment of loudspeakers along the border for psychological warfare, reviving a tactic previously used to broadcast music and criticism.
