Nordio: “Massici arresti di minori, vogliamo ampliare carceri giovanili”

Justice Minister Carlo Nordio commented on the unprecedented mass arrests of minors, emphasizing the need for effective measures against violent youth. He proposed increasing the capacity of juvenile prisons and possibly reallocating sections of adult facilities for minors. Regarding a new decree on protests, he assured that it does not limit peaceful expression but aims to prevent violence. Nordio also discussed the role of the military in public safety, clarifying that their presence is not new and is meant to support police efforts. Lastly, he expressed hope that Parliament would consider regulations on social media access for minors without lowering the age of criminal responsibility.
