Ninety exhibitors at the Chestnut Fair in Trancoso

The Chestnut and Autumn Flavors Fair in Trancoso will feature 90 producers from Friday to Sunday, celebrating the region's chestnut production despite recent declines due to wildfires. Mayor Daniel Joana highlighted the economic significance of chestnuts, projecting over three million euros in business during the event. The fair will include contests, culinary demonstrations, and musical performances, with a focus on promoting local producers and addressing agricultural challenges. This year, the municipality of Sabugal will be a guest participant, fostering collaboration between the two regions. The event will also host a technical meeting for chestnut producers to discuss cultivation practices and disease management.
