New Lula Government will evaluate credit proposal at Caixa for Brazilians to buy homes in Portugal

The Brazilian Embassy in Portugal proposed to the Federal Government a credit line through Caixa Econômica for Brazilians living in Portugal to buy homes. Ambassador Raimundo Carreiro highlighted the initiative as a response to the housing needs of the Brazilian community. The program would be facilitated by Caixa and Banco do Brasil, which operates in Portugal. Carreiro expressed hope that the new Lula government would advance discussions on this proposal. Meanwhile, Portugal faces a severe housing crisis, prompting protests from citizens, including many immigrants, demanding better housing policies. The Defense Minister linked the crisis to uncontrolled migration flows and criticized the protesters' representation.
