New mandatory collection decreed in Paris

A new curfew has been imposed in Paris following violent protests and looting over the weekend. The curfew will be in effect from 11 PM to 6 AM in sensitive areas. A ban on unauthorized gatherings is also in place from 8 PM to 6 AM. The unrest resulted in over 2,400 arrests nationwide, with significant property damage reported. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced a more robust police presence for upcoming protests, acknowledging previous strategies were inadequate. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez has resigned but was asked to remain in his position by President Emmanuel Macron, who is seeking improvements in police tactics and planning.
