New ruler of European skies. Ukraine may soon have more fighter jets than the current sovereign
The Ukrainian Air Force is set to enhance its capabilities significantly by 2030, potentially acquiring up to 129 fighter jets from Western allies. This includes older models like Mirage 2000 and F-16s, as well as newer aircraft such as Jas-39 Gripen and Dassault Rafale. The urgency for these additions arises from increasing drone attacks by Russia, with Ukrainian fighters reportedly able to intercept a significant percentage of these threats. The Future Airforce Conference highlighted these developments, despite controversies surrounding its organization. Ukraine aims to position itself as a dominant air power in Europe, comparable to nations like Spain and Germany.
