New category, new king. Fans have chosen the most outstanding Ballon d'Or winner

This year, the Ballon d'Or organizers introduced a new category, the Ballon d'Or of All Time, to identify the most significant winner in history. Fans voted online for their favorite among 32 nominees, including legends like Ronaldo and Messi. Ultimately, Cristiano Ronaldo's 2008 victory was chosen as the most impactful. The voting process involved a fee, leading to significant participation, especially from Ronaldo's fans, who mobilized to support him. Ronaldo, now with Al-Nassr, has won the Ballon d'Or five times, while Messi holds the record with eight. However, Ronaldo's first win is celebrated as a historic moment in football.
