New data on inflation in Poland. "Energy prices have gained momentum"

Economists surveyed by PAP Biznes anticipated a 3.7% annual increase and a 0.2% monthly decrease in inflation. In October, consumer prices rose by 3.5% year-on-year, down from 4.1% in September. Food and alcoholic beverages saw a slight decrease, while energy prices increased significantly. Analysts noted that despite the drop in inflation, price pressures in the economy remain high, primarily due to rising global oil prices. The central bank is expected to maintain interest rates until at least the end of 2026, as wage pressures are not increasing significantly and consumption shows signs of weakening.
