New salary limits for medical professionals. The Deputy President of the NFZ explains who will feel the changes

The Polish Sejm has passed a law limiting medical personnel salaries, capping hourly rates at 240 PLN gross. This change primarily affects hospitals and clinics, as the National Health Fund (NFZ) does not employ medical staff directly. The NFZ may see financial impacts only after potential adjustments to health service pricing. The Agency for Health Technology Assessment will analyze salary data to inform future pricing. Additionally, the NFZ will monitor medical staff work schedules and has gained authority to exclude doctors from the public system for specific violations, requiring substantial evidence before action is taken.
